When I enter the below command
sodo tasksel install ubuntu-desktop
The packages are not installing on my mac
if in the future i delete the VM, the used storage will be restablished and free back again?
For some whom might have problems :
1. make sure to run : sudo apt-get update
2. (tasksel is deprecated so u can skip : sudo apt-get install tasksel + sudo tasksel install ubuntu-desktop) instead run : sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop^
Can I do it in a MacBook Air M1 lock for iCloud?
Very useful. Thanks!
THANKS !!! In all the tutorials I followed, none talked about the step at 4:17 (eject ISO). So I entered a loop. I now have a working Ubuntu installation. Big thanks.
Very nice video my friend, I was stuck in one step after installing tasksel, I tried with the sudo install tasksel ubuntu-desktop and it didn't work. I just the command as "sudo tasksel" and it worked!!!
Just in case someone gets stuck like me
quick question, tassel installation worked fine, but when I try to install to get the GUI version it doesn't process. do you know why this is?
is there anyway to get ubuntu to connect the internet?
Just want to say thanks for making a video that isnt all fluff and BS. Real fine job helping me get past a block.
Your missing the main part which is networking and using an ssh client to remote into the VM in UTM 🙂
QEMU exited from an error: qemu-aarch64-softmmu: device requires 67108864 bytes, block backend provides 540672 bytes
thanks man
Its showing a blank screen with a cursor and does not move forward with Ubuntu installation! using Ubuntu 22.
Hi, thanks so much for sharing. I am using Ubuntu 22 now and the command has changed, it is “sudo tasksel install desktop”.
I installed the packages successfully in the ubuntu terminal but did not get the purple installation page and after rebootiing it still comes up with the terminal
When i do sudo tasksel install ubuntu-downloads nothing happens 🙁
Thanks Jack

You’re a life saver 💋
Hi, I followed along but it doesn't give me the up and down arrow key control to select "Install Ubuntu", instead it gives me a black screen saying
UEFI Interactive Shell v2.2
EDK II
UEFI v2.70 (EDK II, 0x00010000)

BLK0: Alias(s):

Press ESC in 5 seconds to skip satrtup.sh or any other key to continue
and then it gives me a shell of sorts.
Any idea how to fix this?
