Method 1: Recover deleted files from a Recycle Bin
1. Double-click on the Recycle Bin to open it.
2. Find and see the files to be recovered. You can use the Ctrl and Shift keys to choose multiple items at once.
3. Right-click on the selection and choose Restore. This will restore the file to its original location. You can also drag the file out of the Recycle Bin and drop it on a new location where it will be stored.
4. Verify the files have indeed been restored to their original or new location.

Method 2: Recover Files Using CMD
1. Open the Start menu. recover deleted files in Windows 10
2. Type “cmd”, right-click on the top match, and select “Run as administrator” to run the Command Prompt with an administrator privilege.
3. Type “chkdsk X: /f” and hit Enter on your keyboard. Replace “X” with the letter of your hard drive.
4. Type “ATTRIB -H -R -S /S /D X:*.*” and hit Enter. Again, replace “X” with the letter of your hard drive.

Method 3: Use a Data Recovery Software
1. Download and install Disk Drill.
It is strongly recommended that you do not use the disk that will be used for the recovery. Installing on that disk can lead to corruption or overwritten files before you get the chance to recover them.
2. Launch the application.
3. Select the disk or partition where the files were located from the list presented in the application’s window.
4. Click the Search for lost data button to initiate Disk Drill’s scanning algorithms. As it processes, you will be presented with a list of the files that can be recovered.recover deleted files in windows 10
5. Select the files (photos, music files, videos, documents, etc.) you wish to restore and a new location where you will store them.
6. Click the Restore button to restore the file to its original location.
Address any naming conflicts by replacing the original file with the restored version, skipping the file, or keeping both for your review.

Method 4: Use File History
1. Click on the File Explorer icon and open the folder that contained the items that you want to recover.
2. Click the Home tab and then the History button.
3. Select the files or folder that you wish to restore.
4. Navigate through time with the arrows to search for the version you want to recover.

Method 5: Use “Restore previous versions” on Windows 10
1. Open the Start menu. recover deleted files in Windows 10
2. Type “system protection” and hit Enter on your keyboard.
3. Choose a hard drive under “Protection Settings” and click “Configure”.
4. Select “Turn on system protection” and click “OK”.
5. You can now use the “Restore previous versions” feature to restore a file or folder to its previous state.

  • NOT WORKING DO NOT CLICK IT THE THING IS HE DIDNT MENTION YOU NEED TO PAY FOR IT

  • It's taking forever to install disk drill so i had to cancel it.. how long does it takes to install an 19mb software?

  • I just accidently emptied my Recycle bin with MP3's I shouldn't have selected. Any way to get them back?

    Thx in advance.

  • I deeply value and appreciate you, Sir. May God bless you.

  • tried using "ATTRIB -H -R -S /S /D X:*.*" an did not work help

  • This program disk drill seems very good. I hope it will work well because now i'm in the process of scanning.

  • Man the disk drill software is really magic, thankyou for developing such a software. Keep up the good work.

  • I've paid for the software. I'm running Version 4.5.6. Do Disk Drill and Cleverfiles provide any phone support?

  • Another interesting thing is that the Disk Drill interface creates a folder 'Existing files'.

  • He is saying at approximately 6:20 "I strongly recommend that you export and save the files to a different location than you're trying to recover to." I don't understand. There are three different basic locations of recovery: 1) The drive that was (or is) corrupted, and then 2) the drive where your files were created within the location you chose in the dialog box, and 3) the final location of the files you selected to recover and that you want to be recovered or restored. So, again, we have three different groups of file locations. So I'm not sure which ones out of the 3 that he's talking about there starting at 6:20. Again, it's good that we have Disk Drill to help us attempt a recovery, but it seems to be a herculean task of determining which files will actually end up in a valid, recovered, restored, "loadable" state.

  • I think my .ddwscan files are (or were) in a recoverable state, but I still haven't been able to figure out what exactly to do, knowing that there are way too many files to attempt a "preview" of each one individually. I still don't know the best operation prodedure(s). Also, I wonder whether I should use Microsoft Windows' File Explorer instead.

  • It's great that I'm given the opportunity to recover data from a USB drive where Microsoft Windows can't see the drive. But now the Disk Drill interface is giving me the five different "types" of file categories (Existing files, Found files, Reconstructed, Reconstructed labeled, and Recovery vault) and there are way too many files to "preview". I definitely do not have the time to attempt a "Preview" all of those files. The largest file category, in size, is "Reconstructed labeled". I'm very much time-constrained, so what should I choose? I searched the Cleverfiles website, I searched the Frequently Asked Questions, I searched the Knowledge Base, and I couldn't find the info I'm wanting. Are there other Disk Drill users who have encountered the same question as mine? Thank you – Todd

  • hello i lost my hard disk files during recovery . i can not find my files in recycle bin and not in the hard disk i dont know what to do please help me thanks in advance

  • Hi, how to redo this commend? my dysk is broken i cant delete anythink 🙁

  • I couldnt use my computer until i found this video since i deleted my Windows Files!! Thank you so much u saved my life

  • Took over 5 hours for disk drill to scan my files. I was holding my breath, it was my last resort. I was trying to recover my hours worth of art progress on inkscape. I found the recovered files on disk drill and it said it was recovered, it turned the files green. But when i try to open any recovered file, my computer says its searching for the shortcut only to never find it. If i manually find the shortcut for it, it still doesnt work/open, all it does is take me back to the computer looking for shortcut screen. Its an endless loop. Its unfortunate
