Note: The setting will be grayed out if the Mouse Keys feature is Off.

Close the Settings app. You may now continue using Mouse Keys even when Num Lock is Off.

To re-enable the setting, check the box for ‘Only use mouse keys when Num Lock is on‘.

2] Use the Windows Control Panel to enable or disable Use Mouse Keys when Num Lock is On

Type ‘control’ in the Windows Search bar and click Open next to the Control Panel app. In the Control Panel window, click on Ease of Access > Ease of Access Center. Then click on Make the mouse easier to use.

Next, click on the Set up Mouse Keys link. On the Set up Mouse Keys page, look for ‘Use Mouse Keys when NUM LOCK is:‘ under Other settings.

You will see two options, On and Off. Select On to enable using Mouse Keys when Num Lock is On. Select Off to enable using Mouse Keys even when Num Lock is Off. Click Apply, followed by OK to save changes to the system.

How do I enable my mouse keys in Windows 11?

Then double-click on InitialKeyboardIndicators in the right panel and change its Value data to 0.
