• When I was in my late 20s, I built up my own muscle car to about 600 HP. I never had any accident with it, and did not abuse it. I liked the feel of the torque and the response it had. It was a 4 speed with an overdrive. I was never able to press the gas pedal too hard. It was over powered for the street, but it was fun to drive.

• The DEALER is offering the extended warranty, not the manufacturer. It's an incentive to get people through the door, and it is approved by the manufacturer. But yes, see exactly what it covers. I got a new Santa Fe in 2020 and purchased a lifetime bumper-bumper & powertrain warranty through the dealer. It actually covers more items than the factory warranty. So if my radio takes a crap in 2035, it's covered in writing. No warranty covers wear parts though. I don't know what kind of logic people are using, but it doesn't make sense for a company or dealer to stand behind a car for 20 years or 200k if they know it's a turd. Hyundai factory powertrain warranty is 10 years/100k. Everyone else is 5/60k max, sometimes 3/36k. Might want to look into why that is and ask those dealers why they won't stand behind their vehicles for as long as others if they are supposedly a better car. And if they say it doesn't matter because they last, then ask them to put their money where their mouth is and give you a free warranty for 100k. I guarantee they won't do it.

• Scotty, thank you for always sharing your knowledge and insights. Question: I have a 2020 Honda Pilot Touring 2WD with 47,000. I never changed the transmission fluid and get conflicting info about the interval to change (dealership, online, etc.). Is it too late to change it or when do you suggest I change it? I want to properly maintain my transmission. Thanks, again.

• Scotty doesn't know that Porsche 944's can be raced, redlined with over 100,000 miles all day and will have no problems year after year. I was in the Porsche club and 100's of them were capable of this and no one expected any less.

• I leased a 2018 Chevy Cruise Hatchback. The brakes went at 15k miles!!!. Rotors and pads had to be replaced at my expense. I wasn't expecting to spend money on a 3 year lease. In year 2 the seats started to fade, at 30k miles the factory tires needed replacing… and at the end of year 3, I was ecstatic to return it to the dealer. Last year I purchased a Corolla Cross. The quality build difference is astounding. Screw you GM.

• It is like my Frontier's "10 year, 250k mile warranty"- It only covers the engine "internal parts" and the transmission "internal parts"… whatever that means.

• My next door neighbor just got a hellcat. He drives it to the car shows on the weekends and he drives very responsibly and conservatively. His daily driver is a roush Mach 1 mustang and he shifts it like my grandmother. He's only a few years older than I.
