Linus loves his Framework laptop — so much so that he invested in the company, but when we had our charity auction a while back he sold it to the top bidder and now needs something new. Luckily, Framework is back with a new AMD-powered 13″ laptop that seems to fit all his needs.

Like this comment if you would buy a Framework Stock right now!
*Correction, you can actually expand it up to 96GB of RAM. It works great! 😁
I'm on a Zephyrus G14 rn, which has made 16 inches feel a bit too big. I just hope that they start supporting dedicated GPUs on the 13 by the time I'm looking to upgrade, because that would make this perfect for me.
It's worth noting that they have a new webcam module coming out soon. They did a whole video about it with some before/after footage for comparison. Of course, you can buy the new version (when released) and upgrade your current laptop.
when is framework gonna release a 80+ watt hour battery?
this makes me wanna buy a laptop bruhh
Finally launch in switzerland bois
Are yall going to review the Galaxy Watch Ultra? Yall did the Apple Watch Ultra and Ultra 2.
Soo, kinda like that one time where you auctioned off someone's prototype water block, and regretted it then, too? Maybe you should stop auctioning things.
Way too expensive and no gpu option for the 13 version, the 16 can have a gpu but you end up paying 2.6k for something you can get for 1.8k
dude frame work is groundbreaking. giving that pc build experience with a laptop, genius
Lavender bezels are life thank you very much
So is this how the DIY kit actually arrives? Like basically already assembled? I actually want more of a building experience
Its a nice concept, an upgradable laptop but I cannot see a reason why i would need one. Every 5 years or so the progress in every field has been so significant that you can just upgrade the entire laptop and pass down your old laptop to people who can use them still.
Linus, please advocate for Framework to offer not only laptops, but also mini PCs. All it would actually need is a housing reduced by the corresponding components.
somebody get my man a de-esser
purple ≠ lavender
My still bluescreens all the time 🙄
Framework is amazing
But until they can lower the cost to under $1,000 most people won’t buy them
For a little time the hair tells us when it was filmed
Great idea but way too overpriced ….. for $1800 its simply just way too much for what your getting
your videos are a treasure trove for anyone eager to learn something new!
But ypu don't regret not telling your audience the financial interest you had in this company before trying to sell them its products?
Hopefully framework can move to lpcamm ram soon, and also add a trackpoint option eventually.
Although pretty compelling on their face, even the framework 16 feels really limited, especially in IO. Having 6 ports total (including charging!?) if I want my minimum 4 USBA and 1 communication port, I have to pull something out if I want to use an external display…Realistically, this is almost never an issue, but if I sacrifice gaming performance, I can have all the I/O I want in a thinkpad that was price competitive when it was new, but is now 1/5 to 1/10 the price on eBay. I respect the modularity idea, I just think it could have been better thought out with a few essential ports built-in permanently to save space.
What happened to Linus Hair??
This may have been stated in the video, but is it possible to change out the ports on the fly or do you have to do a restart?
