If the end goal is INFOSEC(pentesting/vulnerability scanning) am I wasting my time with CCNA? Would it be better spent studying Linux and Python instead? My thinking was go thru ccent/ccna course or book for the knowledge but not the cert.. any and all input greatly appreciated.

I commit to the CCNA knowledge BUT NOT the cert, my ultimate goal is INFOSEC so jus want the 411 on networking , but if spend the time to learn networking, might as well get the cert huh? Decisions, decisions…

Keith, thanks for the encouragement. I got one Cisco certification long time ago, and started working eventually to be a Network Administrator and felt comfortable enough not to bother with renewing it. I really love the technology and still studying with you all these years. Thank you!
