CYBERPUNK 2077 On Ubuntu Linux Gameplay with AMD GPU

Cyberpunk 2077 continuous game play on Ubuntu 20.04 Linux with my trusty AMD Vega 64 GPU @ 1080p.

I got this game on steam. Works out of the box if you use updated Mesa/LLVM packages and the recommended repository from Proton.

On a fresh Ubuntu 20.04 installation the steps to make it work for an AMD GPU are pretty straight forward.

1 – Read the instructions and use the ppa https://launchpad.net/~kisak/+archive/ubuntu/kisak-mesa
2 – On steam settings go to “Steam Play” and check “Enable Steam Play for all other titles”
3 – Select “Proton Experimental on the “Run other titles with” dropdown menu

You are set! With my AMD Vega 64 I get around 5-10 less FPS than running it on Windows 10 with the same settings applied.
