How to install cPanel/WHM on a fresh installation of Linux
• You need to have a licensed server that meets the specified requirements to install. You will also need root SSH access to your server. You will require a SSH client as well. PuTTY is the best option.
• Enter the server’s address or choose a saved session. Click on Open.
• Your server may not allow direct SSH connection. So, you will need to log in as an admin user. Attempt to log in as root. If this fails, then you will need to find out the admin login.
• Type in the password and you will see a line appear. If you are logged in as admin, you must switch users to root by typing su, then pressing Enter.
• As root, the first command you will type is cd /home followed by enter.
• Now retrieve the latest version of cPanel installer by writing the exact as follows: wget http:/layer1.cpanel.net/latest. The download will start. It will finish soon.
• To execute installer, type sh latest, then press enter.
• You will see some output right away. Note the error and then the installation will start and take 10-70 minutes.
• The installation is now complete. To finish, let’s ensure the license information is up to date.
• Now, type the command of # /user/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt
• It’ll take some some seconds, and this is it, the cPanel and WHM are now installed.
