Installing the “LAMP” stack (Apache, PHP, MySQL Server on Linux) allows a developer to quickly bring up a web application development framework with quality web server, application server and database server. The installation is relatively easy and can be installed on the free Ubuntu Linux operating system. This video covers installing Apache web server and configuring the hostname. Then PHP web application server is installed followed by the MySQL Server database. The connectors that allow Apache, PHP and MySQL to work together are configured as well.
