Description :
fping is a ping-like program that uses the ICMP protocol to determine whether a host is active. When a host replies, it is noted and removed from the list of hosts to be checked. Instead of trying a host to timeouts or replies, fpt will send a ping package and go to the next host in a round-robin mode. fping differs from ping in that you can specify any number of hosts on the command line, or you can specify a file containing the lists of hosts to be pinged. If a host does not respond within a certain time limit and / or attempted repetition, it will be considered unreachable.
