IPv4 – Lesson 4 – Classes of IP addresses

This lesson is 1 of several that will be posted here for the IPv4 course. (You will need to master IPv4 because, although we are transitioning to IPv6, 98% of the world is still using IPv4. It’s part of the TC/IP suite of Protocols. IPv4 is not going away anytime in the near future.) Students will learn IP addressing, Subnetting, VLSM, Route Summarization, and Wildcard Masking. The course will also show students how to assign IP addresses to PC’s and Routers. Students will gain an understanding of the TCP/IP properties such as gateways, DNS, WINS, and the use of alternate addresses.
