[KB5001649] Cumulative update for Windows 10 version 20H2 – A MAJOR FIX FOR MORE PRINTER ISSUES!
Microsoft has been forced to issue another out-of-band cumulative update to fix printer-related issues, including BSODs. This is the second emergency patch this week and it is now available as an optional update.
Here’s how Microsoft describes the newly identified problem:
● Affected devices might receive unexpected results when printing from some apps or to some printers. Issues might include missing or solid color graphics, misalignment/formatting issues, or printing of blank pages/labels.
The updates should be available to users on Windows 10 versions 1507, 1607, 1803, 1809, 1909, 2004, 20H2, and Insiders on 21H1. Microsoft recommends that you proceed with the update only if you’re affected by the problem. However, when trying to install this new update via WU, you might receive the following error: “Failed to install on 3/19/2021 – 0x80070541”.
