LMDE or Debian with Cinnamon: Which is the better choice? You should know this beforehand!
Debian is a universal operating system that everyone can adapt to their needs. You can also use Debian with the popular Cinnamon Desktop. Cinnamon comes from the Linux Mint project. And here, in addition to the regular Linux Mint edition, there is also LMDE (that stands for Linux Mint Debian Edition). This is a full-fledged Linux Mint edition that comes with Debian as a base instead of Ubuntu like the regular Linux Mint edition. So now the question is what is the smart choice: Debian with Cinnamon Desktop or LMDE. In this video we explore this question and examine the necessary aspects that will hopefully help you make your choice.

LMDE has Cinnamon finely tuned. The difference is minimal and unnoticeable unless you've been using LMDE as your distro for a while (My case).
Great video, was wondering about that as I run Debian Cinnamon on one machine, coming from Linux Mint still installed on my two other machines. Now I wonder: LMDE vs Linux Mint…
Cinnamon is best de
How is Cinnamon different from KDE from a user point of view?
I would recommend the following:
To use as a desktop/laptop daily use OS, use LMDE because it's all been setup for you already and there is no configuration required.
To use as a server: use Debian if you want to set up a server because it doesn't require a desktop environment and once you setup what you need, you don't really need to worry about updates and it just keeps working reliably. Personally I would install updates once a week but you don't have to if you don't want to.
