MicroNugget: How to Verify and Filter IPv6 Traffic

Start your free week with CBT Nuggets. https://cbt.gg/2LZhF9F

In this video, Keith Barker covers how to verify IPv6 traffic and how to filter it. He shows you how you can use some traditional tools to verify connectivity and how you can apply access-control lists to stop unwanted traffic. He further provides a tangible example of this filtering.

After watching this video, you will know how to verify IPv6 traffic, using the same kind of tools that you have used for IPv4 traffic, such as ipconfig, ping and tracert.

You will also know how to filter this traffic by applying an access-control list on a router. Keith provides an example of this, by preventing telnet traffic on a network. He does this by configuring a router on the network to stop traffic on the port typically associated with telnet while allowing all other traffic. He then shows you how you can test this by looking at the access list after a failed attempt at using telnet.
