Preparing for Constant Change With Quantum Agility – Tim Serewicz, The Linux Foundation

Governments are not known for their technology agility. We are at the dawn of easily usable quantum computing, with advances that will potentially crack commonly used security and data protection algorithms. General encryption and digital signatures used by most software today will need to be updated to be quantum-resistant, using current and yet to be decided tools, as well as be able to quickly use different tools. Tim will cover the current state of quantum computing, new NIST quantum-resistant standards, and then explain the need for support of rapid adaptation of new cryptographic tools without making significant changes to infrastructure, otherwise known as quantum agility.
