Split Brain Dns | External & Internal Dns Configuration Exchange Server 2016 Part 2
Welcome To Youtube Channel Techi Jack For Technical Deep Knowledge.
Description: This video of exchange server tutorial explains about, how to configure split-brain DNS on your exchange server. You will learn how to create a local zone for your public domain.
However, you will come to know which records are required and how to configure your internal DNS zone and external DNS zone for exchange server.
Furthermore, this exchange server video also explains you, how to use IMAP, pop and SMTP namespace and what necessary records are required on your internal and public DNS.
Note: If you are using a different namespace for IMAP, pop, and SMTP, these names should be included in your third party SSL certificate, which you want to the use for your exchange server.
However, if you want the user to login with your public domain name, you have to change upn suffix from active directory domain trust and add your public domain name.
Make sure to forward the ports to correct server to make it work properly.
I assure you that, by watching this video completely, you will be able to create and manage your local internal DNS, as well as external public DNS for exchange server 2016.
Same records work fine with other exchange server version too, example exchange server 2010,2013
The main record required for exchange server:
Host A = Mail points to mail.domain.com
Cname = Autodiscover points to domain.com
Mx = domain name pointing to mail.domain.com
SRV record – host = mail.domain.com, priority=0,weight=0, port 443, TCP
SPF record – generate it from mxtoolbox.com
dmarc record- generate it from mstoolbox.com
If you are using a different namespace for IMAP, pop, and SMTP, then host records are also required on both internal and external DNS for your exchange server.
