UBUNTU – MATTERS NOW (Episode 3.)
In August 2020 we met with Alice, an inspiration and source of happiness for us and many more.
In 2019, Alice started a filmclub with her friends Fiona and Rewina.The club goes by the name Ubuntu, a term in Kinyarwanda language which translates to ‘humanity’. It refers to the notion of being through others: I am because you are.
Emerging from humanist African philosophy, the term relates to humanity and oneness, emphasising community as one of the constitutive elemements of society.
After sitting down with Alice, one could say she surely embodies the values she promotes. Her unconditional love for the people around her inspires others to do good.
