Ubuntu Server 18.04 Administration Guide Part 04 – Adding a DNS Domain Name



In part 4 of the Ubuntu Server Administration Guide, we’ll apply a DNS domain name to our droplet/VPS. I’ll show you the process in Hover, though any DNS provider is acceptable for our purpose.

    Is it possible to configure domain name entirely by Linux commands? not from dashboard

    How can I do this local without buying a domain. For Example to create a MediaWiki.

    I have no interest in nextcloud but going to follow this course good info and teacher. I wish you made a video split for people that want to make a vps hosting server with a control panel like Part 04-host and so one.

    How does adding DNS Domain name work if server is my own behind firewall?

    Cool idea with the nextcloud ! Some minor comments though : 5:30 it's not a redirection. It's pointing. 6:00 afaik DNS propogation is a thing when changing ns record, otherwise there's no propogation, just caching, you only need to manage the caching ttl correctly.
