  • It's Baal Gates behind the curtain who pushes this AI nonsense. Nadella is just a butler.

  • This isclearly breaking and entering, as well as stalking on the part of Microsoft. Both are already in the criminal code. We just need a judge to take Microsoft's crimes seriously.

  • Copilot auto installs on Win10 also. I'm still on Win10, and it updated itself, forcing copilot onto me. They've also disabled all roll-backs. No matter how many checkpoints you save, it won't let you revert any updates any more.

  • I cannot believe that Microsoft's CEO and numpty staff are so crass as to believe that Recall is a good idea. The only thing they are thinking of is a desperate attempt to encourage the sales of new PCs.

  • I'm switching to Ubuntu at the moment. I've been a Windows user since forever. I was personally involved with the Windows team, met with Ballmer multiple times, have been an advocate of Windows in business for decades. Not anymore. They lost a die hard with this one. Now that most apps can be used via the browser, the need to use any particular operating system, including Windows, is waning.

  • Linux has benn compromised !!! About a month ago, A guy discovered a Back Door for Linux. He is telling people about it on Youtube !!!!!

  • ''windows recall'' reminds me of the ''total recall'' movie. the difference is that they don't sell implanted dreams, but implanted insecurity and surveillance.

  • Windows is fast compared to desktop Linux, at least for me, on a general basis.

  • I sent my brother this video, I've been trying to convert him to Linux but with no luck so far… no matter what I say he still think it is like in the 90s that you have to do everything in a terminal and that you can't play games.

The last time I visited him… his computer, that runs Windows 11, sounded like a loud vaccum cleaner that was about to explode.

  • You'll be one social engineering mistake away from having your entire digital life swiped in seconds. One has to be naive if one believes that Microsoft isn't doing this at the behest of governments around the world. When they seize a computer, all the recall data will be nicely packaged for their immediate perusal and prosecution. And if you disable the feature, it will be turned on again by default on the next Windows update.

  • The last Windows recall snapshot showed me switching to Linux

  • I can't play my favorite games, my peripherals have no drivers and always have to do something to make something work.

  • Can you imagine the devastation on the over 65 target demographic of the Mumbai teleworkers? Can I fix your PC sir, thanks. Just checking your files. <copies all Recall data>

  • Boil the frogs. I jumped out the pot two days ago, I'm actually excited to use my machine again.

  • They say the images aren't sent to Microsoft… but what about the Metadata the AI gets from those images?

  • No co-pilot does not have to be on a co-pilot pc, people have it running on all hardware.

  • The problem is Microsoft , if they haven't learned from all the companies that have already been hacked to date by ransomware , having this kind of windows feature is just asking for massive data breaches.

  • Sometime in the near future [probably] your Copilot+: Aloha Snackbar!!!

  • NPU is not enough to use this feature. You need Copilot+ sticker.
    Never use anything firstgen.

  • microsoft just created a giant hole in their OS for hackers and viruses to just take your data. Everything, from everywhere you will use.

  • Yesh, i been sayin that maybe AMD should start their own LITE Operating System with ZERO FEATURES, full performance.

Calculator and notepad and basic "paint" and bluray movie player are a thing many might like, rest are blaah.

Since Radeons have never asked for a login account like GeForces Experience has, i figure that is their ethic.

  • Co-pilot is only there to gather all your data for Microsoft, regardless of what BS they try to spin.

  • I think alot of apps are already doing this. Entertaining production!

  • 16GB of RAM is nothing nowadays. That is the absolute bare minimum unless you are buying something that is super-duper crappy. And halfway decent new computer right now is going to come with at least 32GB of RAM.
Same goes for the storage. For a new computer to come with 256GB or less of storage it is going to be absolute bottom of the barrel trash.

  • traditionally, a recall is when the manufacturer made a huge mistake in development that presents a serious risk to the end user. My truck has a recall on the brakes, for example. Microsoft truly has a gift when it comes to naming….

  • I switched to Linux Mint and if I need to run Windows Software I run it in Windows on Virtual Box.

  • I use Linux because I don't like Microsoft's policies, and I don't trust them with my data. While I don't believe that Linux is perfect, I feel that it is better than Microsoft's products.

  • I have a spare kiosk stick pc with the intel drivers latest updates from 6 years ago, i might try using that as a linux experiment pc. I have an idea of which distros to try, but they have to be able to check all the criteria below:

    – has to have stable support for gaming, emulated or otherwise, native support is welcome and much perfered.
    – has to be stable enough to offer smooth frametimes bc i use vr, and having smooth frametimes is critical.
    – has to offer native support for pro audio applications (i.e. EqualizerAPO, soundblaster drivers).
    – full native driver support for nividia cards is perfered and expected, even if it has to be proprietary.
    – and has to have native multitasking capabilities, much like windows if not close to windows.

  • La-di-da… 😆 (happily running Debian for 11 years now) 😂 Windows is great for joking around and possibly play some game you can't in Linux.

  • Long live to Linux !
    And decentralized internet and defi.

  • Vanilla Ubuntu does update on it own sometimes but Mate Does not. Honestly, I have not switched away from Ubuntu yet but I am starting to like Fedora more. I might switch to it one day, because dnf is kind of cool. Gnome 3 is good enough for me to move to it. The only thing that stops me so far is wayland. Allegro5 needs more Waylamd support. Maybe One day, Allegro6 will be a thing that built on Wayland eho knows.

  • I have never had Ubuntu message me not to turn off the system because it was upgrading – sounds like bollox to me.
It asks you to close an app and restart the app if it is a snap – you can ignore it and it will install the snap while it is shutting down.
It asks you to restart the system for kernal updates – you can ignore it or choose to 'restart later'.

  • The AI computer chip has two jobs. First, to report crimethink, and second to enforce doublespeak.
Soon you will not be able to send a comment or write a story that is not DEI woke enough.
Clippy will pop up and say, "It looks like you're trying to deny the narrative. Here are some approved thoughts."

  • They call it Windows Recall for the same reasons that auto manufacturers call it a recall.

  • I keep wondering when people will learn that when a company tells you that your data is "secure" they simply mean that they'll always secure a copy of it for the feds to peruse without a warrant.

  • Please update / spruce a little your video about booting from a USB drive. I saw it years ago and it is what made me really commit to Linux. Debian screwed my bootloader once while trying dual boot and knowing that I can install my system from a VM hassle free is awesome and what I recommend every time someone asks about Linux. I recommend a cheap travel SSD or a Silverstone MS12 white whatever distro you wanna use and just keep Windows for Games with invasive DRM or multiplayer.
