Windows Repair (Black Screen & Blinking Cursor)

BLACK SCREEN & BLINKING CURSOR

Problem: After the PC is turned ON, the screen remains black and a
cursor is blinking in the upper left corner. Windows is not starting.

Solution:
1 . Get a Windows DVD (Windows 7,8,10 DVD, or an older Windows Vista, XP disc is also partially usable), or a bootable Windows USB flash drive.
2. Boot the PC from the Windows disc/flash drive
3. Try to use the Repair feature first
4. Than install a fresh copy of Windows (preferably into a VHD file so you can easily delete it later)
5. The OS selection menu should be now repaired, and using EasyBCD add your old Windows into the OS selection menu.
6. Enter your old Windows and if you want you can delete the new Windows.
