I will wait until I can get 5G 1Gb/s download and 1Gb/s upload speed for $50.
Can my 5G Chester Cheetah V2 leverage the no ip service and bridge mode?
When you put the sim card in the InvisaGig 5G Modem do you have problems with the IMEI???? so far it hasnt been easy?
Hey I'm new to tmobile home internet and I live out in the country and I've noticed that my ping jumps a lot and my signal varies.. I just got the new gateway G4SE and I purchased the waveform mini 4×4 panel kit. Do you think this will help with that issue or is there something else I could do? Even though I live in the country I actually have 2 cell towers very close by
You can not take the sim card out of the T-Mobile gateway and plug into another device. I've tried it and also Nata Tatar have verified it.
Hi, Great info on the InvisaGig modem! There's a FREE, and less complicated way to access your PLEX servers, whether you're behind cg-nat, double nat or not.
One way is to install TAILSCALE on your Synology NAS, and configure it for subnet routes (works for LAN or VLANs).
Another way, and my primary method is: I bought my own domain from Cloudflare (around $10/yr), which supports DDNS. I have a pfSense firewall with a WireGuard VPN tunnel, which lets me access all necessary VLANs. It works great, from anywhere I go. And, whether I use TAILSCALE (which is based on WireGuard) or WireGuard itself, nothing on my home network is exposed to the internet.
This great info
Reliable is questionable so unreliable. Their system online said I was eligible for their extended coverage, also at the T-Mobile’s store said the same thing. Long story short engineers looked into my problem. They said that I was uneligible for coverage. 3 miles from two towers 🤷🏻♂️Now T-Mobile is stuck with me. Yes it has gotten better still some bad or slow speeds
I used NO-IP for years, but you have to manually refresh your DDNS service every month (Free service)
I switched to Dynu, I signed up for free, made my domain address for my ddns and just forgot about it, no need to refresh aka login to account every month to re-up my free service.
You are obviously very knowledgeable, but I wish you would provide more nuts-and-bolts, how-to-do-it videos as well as these-are-great-things videos. Thanks.
Hi Peter. Sorry if you've covered this before, but I'm assuming that I can take the simm card out of my Sagemcom gateway and put it in a third party modem? I have the T-Mobile Small Business plan. I've heard that there are diffterences between my plan, the Home Internat and the Business Internat plans. WHat are the considerations I need to make with the third party modem if I were to do this?
I only get average of 30mbps on WiFi6. While I am not unhappy with my streaming experience, I notice my ATT Uverse speed for internet was far superior and just felt more speedy. I was an early adopter so have "unlimited" for $50. I may switch to Spectrum. My inteenet desktop experience is more important to me than streaming on Firestick. I don't watch much these days. I have gone back to physical media and use Jellyfin.
Nice video. What would you recommend as in a hotspot with unlimited data. Even if it throttles down but a good cheap unlimited hotspot. been using simple mobile but it caps you. also It can be 4g.
I just want to get more than 1 or 2 megabits upload speed.
I can get anywhere from 25 to 175 to download, depending on the time of day, but upload is terrible
I have the trash can gateway, and they say that I'm using the tower that is 1.5 miles from my home with nothing in the way line of sight. My location is always showing me at over 70 miles from my home.
I usually don't have any problems with streaming or recording Sling tv, so I'm not too concerned about it, but it just irks me.
Whenever I check my signal on the gateway, it always says poor.
Sorry for rambling on. Love your channel, and have a great day.
i just got my static ip 2 days ago and now it is worse! always in seattle now for speed tests but speed dropped dramatically for DL and PL
Hey Peter, I have a question. I just switched from a slow 5 megabyte AT&T DSL Internet connection to t-mobile gateway. As I had been on the t-mobile waiting list forever.
Well they finally called me and said my address was now in their optimum 5G zone. So I ordered a t-mobile gateway. However, when it came in, I discovered I'm actually about 50 yards outside their optimum 5G zone.
As I'm a divorced retired dude who lives in a large apartment complex. However, I live in the part of the apartment complex just outside of t-mobile's optimum 5G zone.
Anyway, when the I downloaded the t-mobile app after my gateway arrived, I discovered that I was actually about 50 yards outside of their optimum zone. I hooked it up anyway since 5 megabytes isn't hard to beat and I ended up keeping it.
So since I hooked it up, I get about 135 megabytes on average on my phone. However, I only get about 30 megabyte on my TVs and laptops.
Hence, my question. If I hook up a router to the t-mobile gateway, will I get faster speeds on my TVs and laptops, and if I would, what WiFi 6 router would you recommend?
By the way, I have a Sagemcom Gateway.
They'll gladly sell me phones with unlimited data. But if I want judt internet, that's not available in my area. Verizon too. But they have great data on their phones.
Screwy.
