002 Bridging Loops STP

STP stop the loops which occurs when you have multiple links between switches
Prevents loops by placing each switch port in either a forwarding state or a blocking state.
STP picks which interfaces should forward, and any interfaces left over go to a blocking state
Blocking ports drops all the traffic received ( thus prevents loops)
STP stops avoiding Broadcast Storms, Multiple Frame Copies & Database instability.
STP is a open standard (IEEE 802.1D)
STP is enabled by default on all Cisco Catalyst switches

Selecting the Root Bridge
Selecting the Root Port
Selecting Designated port & Non Designated port
