10 YEARS of the Nomadic Life!! The Story of US – (MJ Sailing Ep 247)

When we set off 10 years ago, we could never imagine this would be our life today.

THIS week’s episode is a celebration of our life on the move. It’s been 10 years since we’ve left our home behind, which is a milestone neither one of us could envision happening when we tossed off the dock lines from our port 10 years ago.

Join us as we cover what we’ve been up to in that past decade; our goals for the future; and answer the questions you’ve given us.

We hope you enjoy!!

Much love from Annapolis!
Jessica, Matt & Georgie

  • Hey Matt, I hope you realize what an awesome gift you have in Jess. My wife won't even step foot on our boat let alone build one from the ground up. I watch with envy as you two work together as a team.

  • I admire your courage and mind set. My only question is how do you do it? You are amazing!

  • Yes a sailing Chanel turned into a dream boat channel they got this. Yes help us pay for a dream boat. Thank you patrons. There are people that design and build there own boats. So nothing special here. Facts…

  • If you are curious of the rapture date
Watch Dr. Barry Awe’s “Rapture at Trumpets”. “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”
    ‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  • It was great to hear your sailing story from the start! Thanks for sharing!!

  • I didn't realize, I've watched you guys from the very beginning. I like watching rebuilds, and that's what got me watching in the first place, and now I enjoy so much watching the catamaran being built!

  • I was convinced Matt is an Engineering graduate.
Your story of your life at sea until the pandemic was like the first 2 series of VIKINGS! Awesome!
Hurry up and finish this boat…

  • 7 weeks in Isla Mujeres! WOW, it sure has changed since then but you definitely have to get back there. We would love to see you guys on the island someday in the not to distant future.

  • Fantastic to hear your backstory, we’re planning our future sailing adventures. Ireland circumnavigation & Europe for starters

  • Question: Was it completely necessary to have an aluminum boat for the trip to the Arctic? What would y’all consider necessary to make a voyage exploring the fjords of Norway?

  • I can't believe I've been following your progress for over 5yrs now and enjoying every bit of it, if you had said 2yrs I would have said OK, that is how much I enjoy watching. Ye have opened my eyes to the possibility of adventure beyond what we have and I can't thank you enough for that … 10yrs is only the start and some day I'll meet you guys and we'll chat and we'll be talking about how ye got me into sailing …… Stay Safe & Fair Winds !!!

  • Tony & Susan here, In Michigan, we have seen all this since the aluminum boat build. Where has all the time gone. It’s been fun

  • Both of you are so cute together! What an adventurous spirit! Congratulations on ten years of sailing and rebuilding and new build! Love your video's and thank you for taking me along, I'll keep holding down the fort here in GR!

  • Wow, an amazing 10 year! It was fun looking back into the scrapbook. I've heard bits and pieces of the pre-YouTube history and this connected all the dots. I've loved being along for the journey and look forward to you finishing the cat, back on the water, and whatever lies ahead.

The end, with the not quite handshake, not quite high five, hug was the best. In the end, you two just make it all happen.

  • Been with you since you "touched" parts of my Norway that I've never seen (kinda coastal mid Norway), and I hope can follow your journeys until any medical/age restrictions separates us forever …. god reise folks.

  • There are a few things about this video I dislike
    a) I dislike favouritism yet this really, really is one of my favourite sailing channels, and this video sumarises why
    b) I dislike people objectifying the female partners on some channels, yet Jess is uber-pretty here! I think I have known you long enough to make a non-salacious complementary comment. You are both lovely! And a great couple.
    c) I dislike reality. I, as an individual, see you chatting with me, sharing a great deal of your life with me. I have a relationship of sorts with you. You, for your part, have nearly 200,000 subscribers, heaps of patreons, many tens of thousands of people watching your videos – you don't know me from Adam.
In short you are great, a wonderful couple and I'm privileged to share part of your life

  • Kind of curious about what kind of kids you two were when you were growing up. Did those kids end up being these adults or did they change somewhere down the line and become adventurous just curious? From somewhere in Comstock Park Michigan

  • Thanks for the inside story. It’s amazing how you can relate 10 years in one episode. I wish YouTube had existed back then.

  • I remember the COVID times with you, we were all miserable😂, been following you since you started these, first comment, hours of entertainment, thank you, looking forward to seeing the cat splash in the future, Andy UK

  • Another long time listener first time caller. I like J better in the glasses.

  • CONGRATs you guys a great job you have done. Still would have loved to see an Arrow build documented by you 2.
