Here is the VTEL Pentium II computer with Red hat Linux 6.2 from 2000 installed and put to use. See how easy Linux was to install 20 years ago. No terminal or CLI, just GUI goodness required to get the system installed and set up. I get online and install some more software, all without touching the terminal. Red Hat Linux 6.2 recognized all the hardware and set everything up with minimal interaction. Besides partitioning and username / password, the entire install was point-and-click, click on next the whole way through. When you pay attention to hardware compatibility, this is the type of easy success that can be achieved, even 20 years ago. Hope you enjoy the process. 🙂
