how to repair windows 10

  • I used ventoy and just put the iso files on it

  • Good video, Brian. I d/l Hiren's. The only difference is for myself I have it along with other ISO's I have on one USB using Ventoy

  • does hiren iso work with ventoy? which is faster ventoy or rufus flush?

  • sir, when i try to reset password the app cant find windir and sam files, there is no hdd visible on explorer too. how to fix?

  • I think it is important even for a lot of Linux users to have the Win PE version of the aforementioned USB drive. If you ever have formatted a drive in NTFS on Windows and then accessed it on Linux you may get an error that sometimes can be fixed with NTFSFIX on Linux, but is sometimes easier to fix by just booting into Windows to fix it. (It is often caused by fastboot being enabled on Windows when creating the partition, but can just be corruption) . There are other times when you can't do a task easier in Linux than Windows and sometimes cannot be done in Linux, like using Rufus to get to the advanced options for creating a Windows installation drive. There are sometimes long and convoluted ways to do the same thing in Linux but, having the drive just makes like easier.

  • Great post. Didn't know Hiren's had updated so downloading that now 👍

  • I have an old copy of Hirens Boot PE love it I will update to the new duel boot ver.

  • Uefi is not last 6 year its last 12 year. Win 8 discount oem pricing relied on having uefi & secure boot for 8+

  • Good video, however, I think the SAMSUNG BAR Plus 256GB – 400MB/s USB 3.1 Flash Drives are the way to go. Much, much faster and have a lot more room. That way if you want you can do persistence Linux it can be fast. I've only ever done it with YUMI though as it's easier. Never with VENTOY though which for regular USB ISO's is great. I need to figure out the persistence Linux with VENTOY though. They also make really, really smaller ones that do 400MB/s also but they are too hard to pull out, like a flush Logitech Unifying Receiver.

  • i would love if you could make a beginner-friendly video on how to set up pi-hole, even showing how to combine "unbound" with it for added privacy/security. all the tutorials on youtube are way in over my head to understand and always use stuff like docker or linux which i've never used before and it all looks very intimidating and confusing.

  • Please make the complete video of reducing the ongoing processes in windows 11 by using a batch file as soon as possible because I need to use it

  • Great information, Thanks. I have one big small request though if you may, can you demo in full detail how do I install, run, and operate Linux and windows on a windows laptop. I have seen many youtubers but they do not provide information in great detail as you may have guessed I am not a computer nerd, I just learn by watching videos but sometimes I get stuck in process. I will understand if you do not want to do it but if you can, it will be highly appreciable. Thanks.

  • I downloaded the portable version of Rufus. When I run it, it still wants to make changes to my computer. What gives? I thought it was portable and didn’t need to install anything?

  • Wanted to trim an external SSD in Linux but couldn't. I was able to do so with Hirens and running a USB with PortableApps version of SmartDefrag. One thing, the new Hirens BootCD PE based on 11 doesn't boot on Win11 non supported systems, and creating with Rufus can't get the workaround for writing Hirens ISO. It boots up, but I get an iaStorE.sys blue screen and it reboots to a black screen. Tried to re-download the 1.0.2 version of Hirens through Github, but the hash didn't match, so I can't use it. Still have an ISO for 1.0.1 though.

  • Hi Brian. thanks for your helpful videos. I'm still using Windows 7, so is it possible to create 2 flash drives and follow your instructions? Any help is much appreciated.

  • good news it was a few mnths ago i was wondering if there would be a win 11 version of hirens.,

  • I usually just clone my boot drives since gen-3 M.2 NVMe storage is so cheap now. Or will be cheap again on Prime Day.

  • I did this once and I format my flash drive and windows Wright protected my 32gb flash drive

  • Thanks, Brian. I always keep Windows 11 on USB drive. I downloaded Hiren's and installed it to a USB via Etcher, as I never really liked Rufus.

  • Can I just use 1 128Gb usb drive? or do I need 2 64Gb units. Thanks in advance Sir. From Aussie 🦘🦘.

  • The most important flash drive to have if you are a windows user is a Linux Mint install flash drive.

  • I find that a lot of the USBs from Ebay fail early. Even the major brands.

  • Im glad to see folks are updating hirens win pe. That has saved my neck so many times over the years. i got multiple flashdrives of ventoys Ive been up a Windows Creek without an iso before and had to use my phone to download it.this will be going on my ventoy drives. Thank you

  • Another handy, well made video Brian. Whilst Hiren's is good up to a point, it lacks a lot of tools that better PE's have. I have 3 thumb drives I carry all the time. One is Sergei_Strelec_WinPE_x64, which has every tool you could possibly ever need to fix a Windows based system installed already and runs on just about any PC, One is a Ventoy disk with about 300 ISO's on it, many of which are linux distro's that run in a live environment and the third is Parted_Magic_2019, which is not much more than a fancy GUI for GParted, but with these three USB sticks ready to go, I have yet to find a PC I couldn't fix or repair, either by using the tools as they are made to be used or re -installing any OS from scratch. And the beauty of USB is the installs are way faster than from CD or DVD and you can carry your ENTIRE Home Lab in your pocket. Now, if only Ventoy could get the XP installer to work correctly, It's the one ISO that will not install from their base system, I have tried it dozens of times, since Ventoy version 0.0.1a, and it still cannot get past certain driver issues on install.

Still, how many people still actually use an XP machine these days? MOST of the hardware that will run it has had it's date with the e-waste demon by now…….

  • Wish I could give you two thumbs up Brian. Great work. Great tools. Thank you.

  • I love Hiren's and have for many years. Just a suggestion, I also use Rufus to create a Windows 11 boot flash for installation rather than the Windows Media Creation Tool. When Rufus set up recognizes the ISO is for Windows some very handy switches can be set. For example to create a local account automatically.

  • I have three 32 Gb USB drive scandisk brand I have one that backs up my Windows 10 and the other is for my Windows 11 and the other I transfer flies and photos from one computer to another, I will buy more, I remember to buy them when I see videos like this one. lol

  • Plot twist: the downloads come with their own malware. And the USB flash drives from Amazon come with BadUSB or similar. 🤣

  • The only USB drive one need is one with VENTOY installed that allows you to directly boot in all your ISO stored on the same USB key.
include STRELEC ISO and you're good to go.
But I personally use an external SSD.
