4G LTE Network on the Moon | NASA Awards $14.1 Million Project to Nokia | Artemis Accords
We all enjoy watching YouTube videos and playing songs on our 4G smartphones. The ultra fast 4G LTE technology makes it possible for smartphone users to do these things without encountering any buffering problems. But did you know that NASA has recently signed a $14.1 million deal with Nokia and has asked the company to build a 4G LTE network on the moon? Yup, you heard it right; a 4G LTE network over the lunar surface. This deal is somewhat controversial, considering the fact that it may violate the terms and conditions of The Outer Space Treaty of 1967 or the Moon Agreement of 1979. Such treaties are usually drafted to prevent the exploitation of resources from the outer space for various reasons. Unfortunately, the Moon Agreement has not been signed by the U.S., China, Russia, and many other countries yet. Do you think it is a good idea to have a 4G LTE network on the moon?
