  • WPS is useful for quick setup of embedded devices – say, a printer, or some sensor. Basically, anything without an input method.

But yeah, it's not too secure.

  • lol used mine to see how many companies and for me i have 21, i guessed around 200-220

  • If you have Spectrum, with the router SAX1V1R you will not be able to access any sort of settings on it. to my understanding you will need to buy your own router if you wish to do so.

  • You didnt nention anything about "secure" UPNP? It may be an Asus thing but would be worth knowing if its actually secure?

  • I absolutely hate that many ASUS routers require UPnP to be on, if you want to be able to use the mobile app. So you can quickly and easily check info, speedtest, etc.

  • Omg tyyyyyy that remote administration the whole time I've been asking to know should I disable it or enable it or I didn't know and I was calling Verizon do you believe they didn't know they did not know they just kept avoiding the question and I've been hacked for a very very very long time and they're doing it remotely I think that's how they were getting in I'm just now getting another router they change all the settings in my Verizon account everything

  • I was told changing anything is pointless because router modems reset themselves frequently to factory.

  • That's it! I'm changing all of my passwords to "bigchungas".

  • Hi Joe, can the router be configured to block sites that are in incognito? Thanks

  • Reading all this stuff about WPS makes me wonder…it is actually quite handy! I have used it multiple times before to automatically connect devices fast and reliably and without any security or other issues! Connections that would otherwise take a whole bunch of time to setup up through router and software settings. After using WPS you can login and change whatever settings you like…(if you are so worried about security)

  • WPS safe my time, for some reason I could not setup my wifi printer on my router. I enabled wps and it connected
