So you just saw the best icon themes for Linux. Here are the the useful resources as mentioned in the video:

– How to install and use icons in Linux: https://itsfoss.com/install-themes-ubuntu/

– Suru icons: https://snwh.org/suru
– Flat Remix: https://www.gnome-look.org/p/1012430/
– Zafiro icons: https://www.gnome-look.org/p/1209330/
– Newaita icons: https://www.gnome-look.org/p/1243493/
– Tela icons: https://www.gnome-look.org/p/1279924/

I am using Ant Dracula GTK theme in the video. Ant has several variants and both light and dark themes look stunning.

  • OMG, Newaita hit the top! Mom, I'm on TV!

  • Hey there. Thanks for the video. I have three questions, maybe someone has the answer here. Is there a way to replace, not theme, the original icons? Also, I love the Suru symbolic icons (for the Files sidebar and so on). Is it possible to only replace/theme Gnome symbolics with those? And would the background symbolics (like the one here https://pengs.win/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/clearrecent.jpg) also be replaced? Thank you!

  • I am glad that my Suru++ icons theme is not listed in the video.

  • Just going off the pink highlight you have in the file manager, I would guess your using either Zafiro, or Tela. Zafiro being my first guess..I guess, lol.
Don't think I have taken a look at Newaita, yet. Cool vid, thanks:)

  • Of those, Suru and Flat Remix were my favourites. I'm a big fan of the Moka icon set as well.

  • Not only do these icon themes look blurry and painfully AWFUL, those aren't different from each other, but a frustrated attempt to copy one another. Also, gnome-shell? Ugh, it's disgusting. Sorry, but that desktop environment and icon theme suck, period.

  • Interestingly there is 1 thumb down – they didn't want icon themes. They wanted donuts. Excellent video! Thanks.

  • They all look horribly like soldiers on parade before the Great War.

  • My favorite is Breeze Dark, which ships by default with KDE Plasma, but as DE I prefer to use Cinnamon or Unity. The smallest version of List icons is really simple and abstract, which is really fast and ellegant to navigate. There are 2 problems with this theme, however: 1) some icons are not present and use other themes, so it is hard to say for a lot of applications which theme they actually come from, 2) not all applications comply with my dark theme settings, and some of those do not ship with their own icons, and those will have light-grayish icons on a light-grayish background, which are hard to see.

  • Suru/Yaru is my favorite by far
Wish we can also have Samsung's icon pack. They look awesome. Close 2nd to Suru/Yaru.

  • what would've made this video even better is hearing you try to pronounce these icon set names in your thick Indian accent

  • how do you get the colorful close maximize and reduce buttons ? thanks
