Breath of The Wild on Ubuntu 20.04 w/ Cemu 1.22.2 (Test 1: 1080p)
I had been wanting to try and see what the state of Wii U emulation under Ubuntu is like with my hardware, and had a chance to do so yesterday. These are the results, directly recorded without any kind of editing. I have uploaded two different versions; one running at native 720p, and the other at 1080p using the Resolution graphics pack.
These videos only cover the absolute beginning of the game, to give a good hint at but not complete picture of overall performance. If you have similar hardware, though, this might be useful for you. Note that I am fairly certain there are a few more optimized options you can probably choose, and I’d wager performance with the same hardware will be (much?) higher under Windows, as Cemu simply isn’t optimized at all just yet for Linux unfortunately. Perhaps one day.
