How To Permanently Map A Network Share Onto Ubuntu And Linux Mint

In this video, I briefly show you how to edit /etc/fstab file to permanently mount a network share on Ubuntu 13.4 and Linux Mint 15. I think this very method is also working for few older versions of Ubuntu and Linux Mint. Enjoy!!!

After you followed my tutorial exactly, but after you tried the command [mount -a], without square brackets of course, but you saw error such as wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on… it means that you have to install cifs-utils before you can mount the network share as cifs file system type. To install cifs-utils, just use the apt-get or aptitude package manager to do so. The command is like this, [aptitude install cifs-utils], without the square brackets of course.
