How to Upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04 Beta from 18.04 & 19.10 Right Now
Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Focal Fossa final stable release is less than a month away. Though in development phase, 20.04 is pretty comfortable to use. I have been using for over a month already.
A few readers and followers asked about upgrading to Ubuntu 20.04 right now as they are too excited to wait for the final release on 23rd April.
This video shows the steps to follow for upgrading to Ubuntu 20.04 beta from Ubuntu 19.10 and 18.04.
All you need is a good internet connection, some free time and patience. Backup of your data on external disk/USB, though not mandatory, is recommended.
Here are the commands to follow:
Update your system first:
sudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade
And then, run update manager for development release:
update-manager -d
That’s it. Follow the rest of the steps and you’ll have the latest and greatest Ubuntu 20.04.
