OpenSSL’s Heartbleed was a wake up call to the sustainability of open source. In response the Critical Infrastructure Initiative (CCI) was created to help assess and address the sustainability of an open source project, but this focused on the production side. For true sustainability we must also focus on the procurement side. Those procuring software require a method to assess the sustainability initiatives of a software development agency. In this session I will propose one.
