Algorand is a decentralized, scalable, and secure network, founded in 2017 by Silvio Micali. The ecosystem of this network is majorly based on banking and payment categories. Micali developed Pure Proof of Stake for Algorand, that allowed every user to propose and vote on the blocks via random selection process. This makes the network secure and does not allow any special group to be attacked or targeted. With this network, small stake holders cannot cheat, and those with a large stake will not cheat because it will devalue their holdings.
Algorand is getting bigger, day by day. In December 2020, around 1 million transactions took place on Algorand. Now in 2021 one, with unique Layer 1 Smart contracts, they are moving towards more challenging and long-term goals.
