Ubuntu 21.04 | A Solid Release That Puts Wayland First

Ubuntu 21.04 was officially released on April the 22nd 2021. While it isn’t the most excising release we’ve seen of Ubuntu it does include some new features and improvements to make using the desktop a better experience. Some of the new features are an improved implementation of desktop icons, power profile modes and most GNOME applications updated to 40. It also allows you to create a recovery key when using encryption. One of the big changes of this release is it now uses Wayland by default and ships with the 5.11 kernel.
