How to uninstall Windows 10 May 2021 Update – FOR VERSIONS 2004 & 20H2 ONLY!

Having problems after upgrading to Windows 10 May 2021 Update (version 21H1)? If so, here’s how to uninstall it from your PC.

IMPORTANT: If your PC was previously running Windows 10 version 2004* or version 20H2*, you could uninstall the update using the same steps to remove a monthly cumulative update. If, however, you were running an older release like version 1909, you would have to use the built-in recovery settings instead.

Uninstall Windows 10 21H1 from version 20H2 or 2004
1. Open Settings on Windows 10.
2. Click on Update & Security.
3. Click on Windows Update.
4. Click the View update history option.
5. Click the Uninstall updates option.
6. Select the Feature Update to Windows 10 21H1 via Enablement Package (KB5000736) that matches the installation date.
7. Click the Uninstall button.
8. Click the Yes button to confirm.
9. Click the Restart now button.

Once you complete the steps, the update containing the version 21H1 bits will be removed, bringing the device back to version 2004 or 20H2.
