Installing & Setting Up Ubuntu Core Linux on Raspberry Pi 3
Ubuntu Core is a version of Ubuntu designed for IoT and embedded devices and uses the Snap store to install the software.
Installing Ubuntu Core on the Raspberry Pi follows the same process as any other Linux distro bound for the Pi. Keep in mind that this particular distro does not use Apt to install the software.
Ubuntu Core is an ideal OS to use on a Raspberry Pi 3 due to its extremely small size and lightweight, plus the added benefit of having Snappy installed and ready after install.
Ubuntu Core is also a pretty good choice for people wanting to set up media centers with their Raspberry Pi’s. Media software such as xbmc, Kodi, osmc, and eelec will run just fine. You can even set up your Ubuntu Core to run as a Retropi or a Recalbox if you wanted.
