[2021] How to create a (free) Linux Mint VPS Using RDP with VULTR Tutorial

In this video I demonstrate step by step how you are able to create a Linux Mint VPS using an ISO from their original website

Step 1. Get ISO link and upload ISO to VULTR
Step 2. Create $10 Instance using ISO
Open Console & Install Linux Mint
(as its directly on the internet make any password long & complex)
Step 3. Once Installed, run the following 4 commands inside the Desktop Terminal
1. sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
2. sudo apt-get install xrdp
3. echo cinnamon-session [GREATER THAN SIGN]~/.xsession
4. sudo reboot
then :
sudo nano /etc/xrdp/xrdp.ini change port from 3389 to ?????
(????? = a number you pick between 10000 and 60000)
in screensaver, turn all lock settings off everything &
set screensaver to never
Step 4. Vultr firewall, Allow only port ?????
A. Idelaly my ip
B. Second choice : eg. 90.0.0.0/8 or 88.0.0.0/8 (or both)
C. Default = Eveywhere

On Your Local PC – In Remote Desktop Connection use… Instance IP:?????
