  • I have public dns server but cant resolve in public help plz

  • Awesome! Please keep these coming – From: Bangalore & Vasco-Da-Gama, India

  • I'm very glad that you do this kind of informative videos, I'm starting soon in a job as an IT technician and this will be of great help even tho I am a bit anxious not knowing how it will go since it will be my first time truly entering the world of business but this kinda of videos always helps people grow more in knowledge making them able to apply them on their daily task, thank you God bless you.

  • I've been a sys admin since 1998

One thing that is missing from training, one of the biggest challenges, is coming into an organization…. where the designers are long gone… and you have a network of systems that you must manage and maintain…. with nobody who can clearly identify and articulate what is going on.

Group Policy could contain hundreds of GPOs that may not even be needed anymore.

I would love to see some videos on how to better analyze and clean up these things.

  • This is was a good refreshing. Thanks for sharing, great content as usual.

  • Im getting back to basics for myself as I come from a DBA background! Perfect timing! Gonna be building a homelab 🙂

  • Great video. I recently came across your channel and have learned a lot. Have subscribed so keep up the good work!

  • Hi Andy, love your enthusiasm and beautiful smile but 2 mins dedicated to 'Jibby jabber' is just too long

  • Hi Andy, Do you have sessions on upgrading Windows server 2k12, 261k to 2k19, or latest?

  • So when I go to create my domain controller in windows server I was told to use .local and not .com as .local is more secure. If I create the DC in windows server as .local and register it as .com in my DNS will that interfere at all or cause any issues?

  • I just discovered your channel a few days ago. And I really love your content we are learning a lot from you. Thank you for your work and what you do

  • Great video as usual❤
I am going to upgrade my server 2012 to 2019, so I am putting a VM on hyper-V and promote it as a DC. My question is: if I use the new DC as a DNS, which DNS address do I need to give this new DC as 300 users are already domain joined with the 2023 DC? I need to minimise down time and configurations.
    Thanks in Advance

  • I know what is hosts record, name server record and you actually demonstrate how to add a hosts and exchange server into server zone. But, what is SOA record and what it actually does for the server?

  • I just want to take a moment to thank you for the clear and concise format of your videos.
After 20+ years working in the software development industry, I am still learning "new old" stuff (things I know, but I did not know it the way I'm supposed to haha).
My role often takes me deep into IT planning and troubleshooting territory and this is very helpful in allowing me to work with my counterparts myself, instead of waiting for the real IT/Security folks to be available. Or at least I can take a stab at the surface layer troubleshooting before I call in the big guns.

  • good video skiped a step in school and this cleared things up

  • another great video Andy. Keep it up man ! Thank you for your hard work and the amazing videos you produce.

  • wow from 10k to over 35k subscribers already! Thanks for your efforts – I enjoy them myself and point all my colleagues here 😀

  • Dydns. and forget it, ISP can change my ip adress no issues. I use it for blue iris and vm ware horizon

  • Thank you so much for all you do. I recently took a position as an IT Admin after being out of the field for years. Your videos are life savers. 🙂

  • I am creating my own AD server for learning purposes and to play around. I have had some issues with DNS configuration. How do I determine which dns do I point the server to? My ISP dns or my router internal DNS?

  • Nicely explained…. have a query.. that, As My Company Domain Hosted in Cloud, and My AD is Hosted on prem. When you hit the website it is routing only local server and it is not leading to Cloud server. So, when the people are working from odfice my company website is not loading. I ended up with no luck how to configure. Could you please assist me? Thanks in advance..

  • @17:50 – "round robin" in DNS, what you said might be misunderstood.

  • @12:00 – i don't see anyone commenting on the PTR statement "point to something else" ….
that's for reverse lookup records. it should allows you to convert IP to Name

  • I work for a software firm that services thousands of companies of all sizes. Believe me… on-prem AD is still everywhere.

  • Your method of teaching is very good, you teach very important points relative to the topic. Easy to grasp and comprehensive. 💯❤️

  • For those with headsets, listen out for the audio "swish swish" at 14:57. It might give you a little fright. lol

  • Some people that create empty content has thousand / milions followers while some people like you who do interesting stuff have a hard time growing up . This thing make me angry
