ubuntu
So i can’t do a pip install for a python module anymore ?
Michl, wieder ein super Video, danke.
Note about apps delivered as snaps.
Ubuntu does not decide if an app should be shipped as snap or deb. It's up to software owner. Most commercial software are forced to snaps as the deb should be for FOSS but also browsers like Firefox are shipped as snaps and that's because of auto update and sandboxing. More secure for a software like browsers that need to update quickly for security reasons and also benefit from the added security of sandboxing.
To conclude, Ubuntu doesn't force snaps on users or developers except closed source for security reasons. In a newly installed system only one app is installed as a snap and that is Firefox and that decision was taken by Mozilla.
Used it for 3 days. Switched back today to Fedora 38.
yeah show us how to remove snap 🙂
I tried to install this earlier via update and via clean install, I wasn't able to experience the new offering. The installer crashes if I do the clean install while the update gave me a problem and it won't boot up. Probably I am the only who is having the said concern, but will stay with LTS for now.
