Check Out Ubuntu Studio 22.04 LTS!!! It's Glorious!!!!

Today we take a look at Ubuntu Studio 22.04 LTS. It’s a spin of Ubuntu designed for people who regularly need Multimedia production. All of the audio routing, applications, and configuration is largely taken care of. I’m using my trusty Dell G15 Laptop and Endeavour Os. Ubuntu Studio was run on a virtual machine with Virtmanager.

  • While capitalism is alive – "Open Source" means – "SHIT".

  • Hi. What distribution do you recommend for a multimedia creator? Video editing plus music composition, multi-track recording, mastering and similar audio processing. Maybe Ubuntu Studio or maybe another distro. What experiences do you have and are you having fun with it. Thanks.

  • Downloading to install on an old Mac mini… I hope it works out the box for jack.. I put raspian but I can’t get the guitar audio in working but audio out is fine.. I think bullseye (the version of raspian) has issues with jack. Also I’m praying it works with just the audio in the old Mac mini has.. as I don’t have an audio interface yet. But I think it will

  • I want to edit video's I made on my Iphone. I am a Windows and Linux user. Which program do you recommend?
    Kind regards

  • I have been using Ubuntu Studio for a long time and I am very satisfied. The news is that in version 22.04 LTS, two sound cards can be used simultaneously. Kdenlive is getting me more and more excited, GIMP is fantastic, Libreoffice is way more than I need, etc. Thank you for your video.

  • The problem with Ubuntu Studio is, in my case, that after installation it doesn't start on my HP laptop. The live version works fine, but after installation all I can see is black screen. Something with the GRUB, I don't know.

  • It is a glorious presentation by Ubuntu, they continue to lead the pack. I prefer the stability and the lacklustre of Debian 11-nonfree .

  • It seems its more suited for audio creators? What distro would you recommend for 3d/2d graphic artists? And i am not talking about distro with installed programs which is easy to do or installed environment. I am talking here about custom kernels or customized system for faster procesor o better gpu performance(nvidia in my case). For me Linux environment can be minimal all i want is smooth performance and working programs with Wacom tablet. So far from my experience Fedora is quite nice and pop seems to have a good way to handle nvidia.

  • I really love the new look of Ubuntu Studio. Very Awesome.,,,,I do always wonder why BlueGriffon is not a part of it ?

  • Hi again, Jeremy. As an unrepentant opponent of the viewpoints Canonical, Ubuntu, and Shuttleworth take, and the decisions they make, I wanted to toss into the mix (pun intended) a couple of other distro versions that do the multi media thing. Since youtube tends to delete comments with uniform resource locators, I'll try to generically guide you, so forgive any obtuseness?

If you look for information on fedora JAMS, you just might find some audio and visual versions of that OS that do something similar to ubuntu studios. LIkewise, if you look for debian BLENDS, there is a multimedia version that may interest you a lot.

If you like ubuntu, all I can do is say I do not, and hope one day you come to the same conclusion. But for anyone who wants a different OS, please do try to find both the debian blends and fedora jams, which offer up a number of specially customized spins. Thanks for your time. I think doing a video a day for 60 days belongs right up there as a Herculean labour, my man.

  • Got to be better for studio work that Windows 11.
