Jim Johnson, that's an amazing idea! I run a cozy campaign (homebrew DND) that I always struggle to pump the breaks on (make it slower and lower stakes) but we run into the issue of our characters rushing to the next side quest (there is no main quests) around their little island. And that idea of having the start being somewhere that a player wants to start and doing something inane fits the theme excellently.
