Is there a real world exhibition of the desktop use, i.e. connetcted to a monitor keyboard etc and used as a desktop device? Is this possible for this Nexus 4?
looks beautiful but … will it blend ?
Love the OS i am going to get an old Nexus 4 phone just to play with it. They should make the OS switch the apps by swiping from left to right with two fingers much faster. Lets hope that developers make apps for it.
if i download this on my android phone, can i still use apps from google play store??
Ubuntu is spyware.
good video and thanks. web apps are fine for those social apps and mail. as long as the device browser supports video uploading there shouldn't be a problem. furthermore, social apps tend to be the social website with a slightly modified UI designed for the specific device
Can it run apk/android apps ???
All the "hurdles" he talks about would be in any new OS!!
That doesn't mean we're never gonna leave android forever…
Eventually we have to move on, however it would take some time (like android itself took) to develop and come into main stream usage!
can i use whatsapp on it? the biggest challenge for me
Achei interessante!
is worth installing ubuntu on nexus?
I think this is where Google are going wrong and I have a feeling that they will rectify this within the next year. Its not developing android for laptops and desktops. They should create android so that you could plug your phone in a dock and then get a different ui on an external monitor for doing work and desktop styled tasks. I like Ubuntu but quite frankly canonical hasn't the legs to compete with google
Lags
You better stock up on spare batteries then.
Looks very much like dead Meego os
its a full fledge OS that will switch between mobile mode and desktop mode. It wont require an app store like other dedicated mobile OS platforms. The only thing that would be required is modification in native applications to be able to switch between both modes depending how you are using it. Dont quote me but i am fairly certain thats how it will go. But do ask someone else too.
Ugh I hate how in every video they do a voice over reuse clips and often the video never syncs with what they are saying.. who the French edits this crap I love these guys but seriously
How will this OS fare up in terms of apps? What kind of store will it have? I know that when I used windows phone their store was vastly understocked when compared to the play store and the app store. Does anyone know if Ubuntu will have the same problem?
looks promising.
Its pronounced ooboontoo
ubantu lol
This sounds awesome for a geek like me, but it looks really buggy for now. Lets see the Edge
more like the Blackberry 10, all about gesture
is it like:
#apt-get install instagram
?
