  • Never liked those long king of screwdrivers, find more stubby ones with enterchangeable bits way more handy. And they are actually magnetic as well!
That extra length makes the job so cumbersome.
Praise those old good YaHui or how they call'em!

  • Wera is a german midrange tool brand, I use them too, good price-performance ratio.

And there are magnetic variants of their screwdrivers, bits, etc. too, I think.

  • Now that you are confirmed the LED controller busted, you should do the North Ridge Fix action, which is to use thermal camera to check for shorted caps or such.

  • Pronounced VEH-ra (like "tera" or "riviera"). They're alright but I'm not a big fan of them, either. I'd say PB SwissTools are better but they're also more expensive, especially if you want the anti-ESD models.

My general advice would be: buy some decent ones in the 3 or 4 sizes you use the most, and then just get one of those big 116-screwdriver sets from Lidl / Parkside for 29 euros to cover any, er… unexpected screws.

  • hello, could you explain how you tested the rgb lighting with the multimeter?my gpu rgb is not working so i would like to test to see if its the pcb or just the leds

  • If the shroud rgb is 12v just make an adaptor cable to plug into the motherboard instead of the gpu. I do this to cards so i dont need any extra rgb software to sync up with the rest of the pc

  • I was wrong too. I thought it was Colonel mustard in the library with the candlestick.

  • Probably led controller has a short on it somewhere which cant cause a short on main power. You are doing harder repairs, give it a try and try to find whats wrong with controller, thermal cam can help too. This would be helpful for future repairs.. Even there can be a stupid filter cap dead or xtal on the controller..

  • I don’t buy anything with leds. What a stupid trend. I like things lean and clean.

  • So shunt resister had nothing to do with this problem

  • Tell the customer to pick a color and hard wire that LED with a resistor off the 12v rail

  • That happens all the time when you switch GPU’s. GPUZ freaks out and needs to fix itself or you reinstall the video driver.

Seen this happen dozens of times with GPU’s that work fine.

Just a suggestion you should be using DDU to completely uninstall the video driver and have it set to install new GPU before testing.

Testing 20 GPU’s on a corrupted driver yeah it will display video but may exhibit weird symptoms like you GPUz snafu.

Also that while LED controller not sure you fixed anything. If I set my GPU RGB to off it saves the profile onto the GPU itself not windows so this persons 2080 Ti may have just had the RGB turned off and the card saved the profile.

  • I've had a win11 install with HD6950. I switched to a HD3850, started the windows, instant and permanent crash. Cannot go safemode, or repair. Only left is reinstall. Weird.

  • One more reason to hate this stupid RGB lights!

  • You're messing with me in almost every video!!! That discord notification is driving me nuts !!!🤣
    As usual, spectacular job !!!👌

  • I can't believe it was something that stupid. I didn't get though if the card worked 100%. I mean the clocks were fine but the performance wasn't there if I get things right, right?

  • Prepare yourself for the wave of platter hard drive failures, Windows 11 is here.
