  • If it’s really that good and close to the Vision Pro why is it that cheap compared to the other one? 👀

  • The Quest looks absolutely ridiculous from the front. But, I suppose some people enjoy looking like an alien insect.

  • Quest software version v62 coming in gradually starting this last february 7th bring the option to import spatial video from iphone to Quest! One more point for Quest 😉

  • the Meta Quest 3. This VR headset can do the same things as the vision pro, but for Far less money. Why is everybody treating the Apple vision pro as a new milestone? it's been done already!

  • Thanks for the info 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

  • Virtual desktop not even mentioned…? Small devs out here outshining with no promotion lol

  • The quest is missing 1 huge thing… The apple logo. To some people, that's the only thing that matters.

  • How to share spatial video to family friends who have meta quest but they don’t have iPhone 15 pro max can they still watch spatial video

  • I think it’s so funny that all those Apple fan boys who ran out to buy the Vision Pro as soon as it dropped talked about all these features like the Vision Pro was the first to do it but a lot of other VR headsets do basically the same thing for a heck of a lot less

  • So the way to go is to wait for the future quest 4 so that It will bring all the stuff the apple vision is now getting hyped for, for less of a quarter of the price.

  • There is no question about the Vision Pro being ridiculously overpriced, even if it's a lot more expensive to manufacture than the rest of the headsets, as a first generation product with barely any app support it really has no excuse, but damn do I hate the fact that Facebook is the market leader.

I've bought the Oculus Quest years ago when there was no indication that Zuck will buy the company and I will be forced to have a Facebook account to use basic functionalities of the device, if I were to buy a new headset now I would probably wait for Valve Index 2 or something, probably look into other alternatives that won't try to lock me into Windows or OSX or at least I don't wholeheartedly despise the vendor who is making it. 😆

  • Who is looking forward to working in mixed reality? That's mind-blowing to me. Is that all you think about? Do you want to spend hours with a headset to do something you can already do without destroying your vision? Why?

  • 6:03 this part of the video says it all. A comparison video and he didn’t even try the device he’s comparing the Quest 3 to. How this video got past the editors is beyond me and I normally enjoy CNET tech uploads.

  • Immersed with the Quest3 is the killer combo. Been using it for 3 months now. I spend 2-3 hours working this way everyday. YouTube VR is also a ton of fun. The other day I went paragliding over the great pyramids in full VR.

  • I really don't understand, meta 3 has had all of this even before the latest update, is spatial videos om iPhone that good? Lol so basically the only thing that the VP has over the MQ3 is resolution and that's not worth 3500$ more….I just don't get it, apple sheep like always. Meta had 4k videos, can play games, do pcvr, it's amazing, it can watch spatial videos I just don't understand, is it that people don't know what the Quest 3 is capable of or what

  • How’s the video editing experience? I was hoping for multiple adobe premiere docks/windows open while editing.

  • You’re not doing anyone a favor by trying to equate the experience on a quest to the Apple Vision Pro. Especially the VR community. They’re not the same and you known it.
Someone buying a Quest because they think it’s like the AVP will just be disappointed and return it, and people will lose interest

  • I'm spellbound by this. I read a book with similar content, and I was absolutely spellbound. "Reclaiming Connection: The Journey of a Digital Detox" by Joshua Ember

  • Yep, it's Quest 3 for me! $3,000 cheaper, and you're NOT locked into Apple's ecosystem.

  • the quest 3 has way more content by far and is a fraction of the price. typing this comment via mr on the quest 3 while cooking cod

  • CNET doing mental gymnastics to not mention Virtual Desktop which does everything from your pc better and easier. especially when paired with steamvr overlays

  • Remember how during the pandemic everyone was wearing masks to cover their mouths. Now with these headsets I am starting to get the same vibes of some part of the face being covered up. Soon everyone's going to be walking around looking "blindfolded" 🤣😆 but this time it's fun

  • I get the point of the video, but at the same time, don't forget doing all this on vision. Pro would be easier and more seamless

  • Quest V62 brings spatial video to headset. They included a demo in the "files" folder.

  • Cool. You can open multiple windows, but can you read text when mirroring using Remote Display? No, you can’t, the quality is low. Meta made promises and didn’t delivered with useful quality.

  • The quest 3 is probably the worst tech product I've ever owned, and I've used vr since day 1 of the quest 1 launch. It's just gotten worse over time. The hand tracking makes watching movies or gaming frustrating because they just keep glitching around everywhere. PC VR is completely unusable in my headset after an update months ago and hasn't been fixed. Horrible lag and screen tearing wheneve I try to use it. Passthrough is way worse than advertised and the quality of text is pretty bad. The thing is not much lighter than my quest 1, doesn't feel much more ergonomic, and lasts even less time on a charge. The experiences also feel the same as quest 1. I was expecting to be blown away by the fidelity increase from quest 1 to 3 with the improved lenses and hardware but it's still too pixelated to rival a real 2k display and the god rays are definitely still a thing. Don't even get me started about the inability to watch Netflix in passthrough with the app (you can't even watch Netflix in the outdated meta browser). The headset is still slow to open apps, boot up, and lags randomly during simple tasks. The battery doesn't even last more than 1.5 hours, which means you need to buy a third party headstrap (many of which don't charge the headset as fast as it drains). What a total failure

  • Thanks for this vid!

It's what I've been telling everyone. If you think the AVP is revolutionary, it means you probably haven't tried other VR headsets. This stuff all exists. None of it is new or done so well it warrants spending $3000 more. Thing doesn't even have an internal battery. Even your laptop would survive a bit unplugged

  • 6:05 kinda tells me all I need to know. If CNET hasn't sent him a Vision Pro to compare the experiences, how on earth can you honestly tell me the difference is or isn't worth it. In all other areas of my life having someone tell me "I've not tried the alternative but what I have is just as good" doesn't work for me.

  • Quest 3 must thank Apple for the recent boom in sales

  • great guide, but surprised you did not mention Virtual Desktop.

  • And you don't need to have a wire and a power bank attached for those 2h of battery life. A power bank will bring you extra hours on top of the device itself.

  • I use immersive when working from home. Add in a bobovr headstrap and remove the facepad and voila. Its like wearing glasses in stead of something pushing on your face all the time

  • Naked hands as interface is a improvement like it was touchscreen in smartphones. I dont know why other brands doesnt implement it, there is open source code in OpenCV to do it.

  • There is a VNC client for Cardboard VR, so do you really need a Quest 3? Same answer: Yes.

  • Pass, not seamless at all. That virtual poking stick is not a good experience. There's always alternative for broke people, can't beat the better experience if you have the money for it.

  • I was with you until you said you hadn't tried the Vision Pro 🤦‍♂
