How To Fix Windows 10 Shutdown Problem – Step By Step FIX
This tutorial will show two methods in regards to resolving issues that may result from Windows 10 having issues shutting down/turning off correctly.
Hibernation is a state you can put your computer in instead of shutting it down or putting it to sleep. When your computer hibernates, it takes a snapshot of your system files and drivers and saves that snapshot to your hard drive before shutting down. This allows your computer to start up faster, because it doesn’t need to re-establish those files and settings.
Hibernate is enabled by default, and it doesn’t really hurt your computer, so it’s not necessary that you disable it even if you don’t use it. However, when hibernate is enabled it reserves some of your disk for its file — the hiberfil.sys file — which is allocated at 75 percent of your computer’s installed RAM. If you have 8GB of RAM, your hiberfil.sys file will take up 6GB of your hard drive space; if you have 16GB of RAM, your hiberfil.sys file will take up 12GB.
So, the main reason you might want to disable hibernate on your computer is if you really need those extra gigs of hard drive space back. If you turn hibernate off, you won’t be able to use hibernate (obviously), nor will you be able to take advantage of Windows 10’s fast startup feature, which combines hibernation and shutdown for faster boot times.
Here’s how to disable and then re-enable hibernate and fix common shut down or sleep issues in Windows 10.
This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba,Lenovo, and Samsung).

In second method it is showing "this command requires administrator privileges and must be executed from an elevated command prompt"😢now what to do
After i bought new keyboard my pc shutting down what to do?
This has consistently happened to 3 of my friends laptops, my own laptop and my desktop. All well spec-ed systems, all with 16GB+ RAM, and my desktop even has a 2080Ti. Nothing works, the damn OS completely refuses to shut down. My friend actually waited for 45 minutes, after which his laptop responded to the shutdown command out of nowhere. Some random bloated task in the background doing crap preventing a shutdown is the most sensible conclusion I'd come to. Final method after that is to hard-shutdown. I've seen this happen on freshly installed windows too. How dumb does microsoft have to be, to mess up something as simple as shutdown, is beyond anyone's understanding xD
2 of those friends immediately switched to Linux after that :v
Thanks
The second method using Command Prompt (PowerShell) worked for me. After putting my newly custom built PC to sleep, it would shut down upon shaking the mouse. no longer an issue, starts right up from sleep!
Second method worked. Thanks a lot man

I did everything you suggested and my computer still shuts down after a few minutes when it sits idle. Then I have to sign in AGAIN! I've watched 20 videos about this problem and none of them has solved my problem. When I typed in "powercfg -h off" all I get is a ERROR notice. Nothing works like the videos say it should. Any ideas?
Does this work if PC is shutting down cuz of overheating? (1st method)
