One Year On: Linux Foundation & Sustainability – Hilary Carter & Anna Hermansen, The Linux Foundation
At the inaugural SustainabilityCon 2023, the Linux Foundation announced the launch of LF Sustainability, a hub to broaden awareness of LF-hosted projects that align with the 2030 climate agenda. It also was a call to action for open source projects and initiatives to align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This session will highlight the initiative’s progress over the past 12 months, featuring insights from numerous research projects published – and currently underway – on the topic of open source and sustainability. The second half of the session will focus on one research project in particular, discussing how open source tooling in the healthcare sector leads to greater data sharing, aligning with Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being.
