  • So is there a Vid some place showing how to use your Proton gt? I play Lotro, on Nobara. I have been using steam, it is simple. I tryed to do Lutris, but I failed. Being a long time Windows user, I don't want to fight to hard to get it to work. I also have messed with Bottles..but really seamed to also be more work for ? I would like if I did not have to lunch Steam. I did get Battle net up using Lutris.

  • Thanks to Thomas I was able to remove Windows from my legion laptop and enjoy my games

  • I have just finished watching Brodie's podcast with him and I'm now listening to him again.

  • Imagine say that VAC is effective 😁You have to play 2 games per year in volvo games to say that VAC is OK

  • This was sooooo great. Thanks so much for the awesome interview and episode!!!
    🎉

  • Just starting my Linux journey because of the Steam Deck. I'm still trying to make sense of it all, but this was truly fascinating. Thanks for the interview, and thanks for all you do, GloriousEggroll and Destination Linux.

  • How do we use UWU in other launchers? I don't get it. Anyody got a video of the setting up process?

  • I have a dream that GE and Valve help Linux take over gaming, relegating Windows to be remembered as that legacy spreadsheet operating system.

  • When I used Nobara first it was number 40 on DistroWatch I've seen it climb to 11 since lol
I switched back to Ubuntu but it was a really solid distro out of the box from when I did use it. Thanks GE for all your hard work with everything

  • why would you introduce the guy twice in the span of 10 seconds lol

  • About the Arch part: I had a similar experience with Gentoo, I loved it and it taught me a lot about Linux. But I got older and don't have the time or energy to keep tinkering, so now it's just Nobara on the gaming pc and Kinoite on the laptop. Thanks, GE!

  • My question is what’s the difference between Heroic and Lutris?

  • What a glorious interview. Computer wizdom flowing like whipped eggs into the frying pan. Really amazing you guys and gal. Very uplifting 1½ hour.

  • First time viewer. What a lovely interview. Thomas seems like a great guy, and I love the juxtaposition of Michael's 'serious' professional voice and Jill's giggly fangirl cuteness.

  • Thank you, EggRoll!

I've been playng Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath from the original DVD since it's launch, even installing the official patches and the no-disc patch on my Windows machines.. well now is Machine, singular, only one. The others were moved to Fedora.

But I haven't been able to install the game on those machines and even if I bought it (again) on Steam, I'd like to install it directly from the original DVDs, specially my laptom, since Steam needs you to be on-line and, well, I'm not on-line all the time on my laptop. Sadly enough, there are no clear instructions on either Lutris or Heroic to make a fuctioning install and using Bottles is quite too convoluted for my taste. Any idea?

    Once again, thanks!

  • Nice interview. It's always interesting to hear about other peoples journey into the Linuxverse. GloriousEggroll has helped make the dream of Linux gaming a reality.

  • @Michael, The email client is Spark, right? 🙂

  • 22:10 don't want to downplay how amazing that is – box64 is going places – but the OpenMW Project ships an aarch64 native version of their updated Morrowind engine.

  • Thank you Glorious Eggroll! You made it possible for me to move to Linux faster through your Proton packages!

  • Now this is going to be exciting. I am a huge fan of Nobara Linux.

  • Will say as a linux person for near 2 decades or so, anti cheats have always been a love hate for my gaming(im looking at you EAC every time battlefield would update and break launching)

  • I just want to thank GloriousEggroll for collaborating to make the Linux gaming scene more alive than ever.

  • Very nice episode! The easterEGG of 13337 video length is a nice little bonus 😛

  • That was fun. Random trivia: I have never actually seen GE before. Just read the blog and use the builds, obviously. Even mentioning him in my presentations on Linux Gaming all the time. It's awesome that he seems to be such a friendly and nice person as well ❤

  • Hey GE, thank you for all the hard work! And for being such a nice guy!

  • Thomas, I sincerely want to thank you for all everything you have done for Linux.

  • I was having major problems with installing nobara.

Turns out, writing out BTRFS caused my faulty usb drive to crap out, giving me corrupted installs.

  • I’ve just started the episode and I’m already craving an egg roll and Steam games.

  • What an awesome show and interview. He is such a cool guy and the community is extremely lucky to have him. Thank you for a great time!

  • Back in the day this guy was the only one with a good guide on getting Arch Linux working with UEFI. It was the only way I was gonna get Arch to run as well as I did.

  • Love EggRoll! Keep up the good work on all your wonderful projects (especially ProtonGE and any SteamDeck). Love your work!
