How to use a Windows PC as a NAS

With the feature available on Windows computers, you can create your own NAS server. On a Windows computer you have many ways to protect your data and turn it into a file server. From there, share storage resources with everyone over the network.

  • THANK YOU! your video was straight to the point – i set up my NAS with ease.

  • Did not work and what I did not like was that I have now different users in windows 🙁

  • Can you show to set permissions user to read , write , modify but cannot delete file in share folder on windows server 2019?

  • what on the steps where ip is dynamically configured over a local area ??

  • This is a great resource! Is it possible to securely access the NAS files from the internet like a personal cloud?

  • I like your videos bro.. really learn something new.. how do stretch or full screen for VM on a nas like snology

  • no les recomiendo usar el espacio de almacenamiento de windows microsoft tiende a corromperlo con actualizaciones –__– lo he vivido dos veces con grupos de mas de 15 TB

I do not recommend using the Windows storage space Microsoft tends to corrupt it with updates I have experienced it twice with groups of more than 15 TB

  • What does change between the “manage storage spaces” function in windows and Raid? What does the raid permit you to do more than this function if we choose to stay in windows, and what to do if that network drive we have mapped disconnects very often eventhough the “nas” pc is turned on and online? I have to remap it again and again because it keeps disconnecting. Even the ip of the nas pc which is static, is the same.

  • Thank you very much. You provide very valuable information.

  • ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤good job❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
