Treasure Hunting – Thrifting at the Salvation Army in San Diego.

katharyne.com
Katharyne Shelton from Treasure Hunting revisits her old haunt – the Salvation Army in San Diego, looking for products to sell on Amazon FBA and eBay.

I can’t believe I left the Lids-Off behind. I guess I was sick 😛

  • This used to be my favorite thrift store here in San Diego! Loved digging through everything in the back, then prices went out of control like goodwill stores have!

  • Katharyne, I am from SD too and recently I discovered the whole plaza of thrift stores there on Poway not far from this SA. Do you know about it?

  • Hi what program do you use to edit your videos? im really liking them, ill Sub!

  • Wow!  Your SA is so CLEAN!  Ours is so nasty.  They moved into a new building and I had high hopes, but nope….nasty.  And it's dark in there and when I get home with things, there are always holes in them.  So I no longer go to the SA.  The last time I was in there, I took my buggy close to the window so I could look things over better to see if I could find the holes before I bought the items and the clerk saw what I was doing and turned around and TURNED OFF THE LIGHTS IN THE WHOLE STORE and then just gave me a dirty look.  Fine.  There are other thrift stores.

Gosh, it's noisy in there!  I was in a thrift store today and some dude was whistling….loudly.  VERY loudly.  I wanted to tell him to please SHUT UP.  But people do not react kindly to being asked to behave civilly in public, especially in Alabama, so I just dealt with it and was about to leave and go to another thrift store, but then he left.  It's usually pretty noisy in there anyway because it is a religious thrift store so they play gospel music as loud as possible to try to convert you while you are there.  I have a problem with my ears and migraines so ANY noise hurts my ears and I just try to deal with it as best I can.  I don't know why they have to play music in doctor's offices, stores, EVERYWHERE.  If I want to hear music, I can bring my own headphones, but I definitely do not want to hear an old man whistling off key as loud as he can whistle.  I mean, who is he trying to impress?

I would have gotten the Robin Williams shirt.  <3  I always look for blue jean skirts.  Hard to find in my area.  I've never seen a new jigsaw puzzle here.  Every one I see is open with the pieces hanging out and the store clerks put rubber bands around them, as if that is going to make them look like all the pieces are there, but there are tons of pieces all over the floor.  Plus, the boxes look like someone jumped up and down on them.

    Thanks for the ride along!

  • Great video!!! Off the subject, may I ask you a question? What are you doing for dinner?…..haha.  Have you gone through the un-gating process in health category and the beauty category? Have you done a how-to vid on these already? Any tips would be great!!!

  • So did you buy the stuff and the ebay pop ups in the videos are those your sales?

  • These are my favorite type of videos. Thank you for the great content. How are the yard sales in your area?

  • fun video! i wonder how much they wanted for the food saver

  • Thanks for this video!  I've walked by a Lids Off every time I've gone in my local Salvation Army.  Gonna get it today if it's still there!
