• This meme is so overblown. The job is knowing know HOW to step logically through every individual problem to engineer a robust enough solution that will work with each of its parts, the stack overflow aspect is merely finding the syntax or strategy in that weird language or quirky OS lib you have to use for this one part of it.

  You don’t see architects out here re-inventing the equations needed to account for load either — it’s literally the same thing, they get paid because they know how to determine which structures and equations are appropriate and where.
